Privacy Policy

1. What this covers

This policy explains how we handle personal information that passes through our Thumbtack lead-response system: the tool a Thumbtack Pro (a local service business) uses to receive leads, send replies, schedule jobs, and get alerts. It does not cover Thumbtack's own website or app - see Thumbtack's Privacy Policy for that.

2. Information we collect

When you (a customer) submit a request through Thumbtack that reaches us, Thumbtack sends our system:

• Your display name
• Your general location (city, state, ZIP code)
• The service category and the answers you gave to Thumbtack's request questions
• The messages exchanged between you and us on Thumbtack

We do not receive your phone number, email address, or exact street address through this integration unless you share it with us directly in a message. If you later book a job with us, we may separately collect a phone number and address to schedule and complete the work.

3. How we use it

• To write and send a reply to your request, or to ask a follow-up question
• To decide whether your request is something we can help with
• To schedule, track, and complete a job if you hire us
• To alert the business owner that a new lead or message has arrived

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run this system. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:

• Thumbtack - the source of your request and the channel we reply through.
• Google (Gemini API) - the text of your request and our conversation is sent to Google's Gemini AI model to help draft a reply. We currently use Gemini's free tier, and under Google's terms for that tier, Google may use this content to improve their products and AI models. If this matters to you, you can ask us to handle your request manually instead of through the AI.
• Telegram (if enabled) - the business owner receives a notification of your name, location, and request summary via Telegram Messenger.
• Twilio (if enabled) - the business owner may receive the same kind of alert by text message.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

5. Where it's stored

Your request and conversation are stored in a private database on a server we control, protected by a password-only, owner-only dashboard. We keep this information as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, complete any job, and keep basic business records, or until you ask us to delete it.

6. Your choices

You can ask us, at any time, to tell you what information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Contact us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

7. Children

This system is used by a home-services business responding to adults requesting home repair work. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If we materially change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the effective date above.
